Article and Photos by Anthony Andrews

For years, the Thoroughbred racehorse has captivated our imagination, along with our very heart and soul. The horse has made an indelible mark within our world. Zenyatta's Pony Horse Hootie

Zenyatta's pony horse HootieWe are so excited to announce that Hootie, Zenyatta's pony horse is now a TROTT horse! Please see the recent article written about Freddy Wilson and Hootie.

Freddy just loves Hootie, and when Zenyatta retired, Freddy wanted him to have an easier job than track pony, but said he wasn't ready to go retire in a pasture. So he donated Hootie to TROTT USA, and now Hootie is our spokeshorse to bring awareness to the wonderful ex-racehorses available for adoption. Hootie even has his own Facebook page!

He lives at our facility in Carmel, and helps the young horses get used to trails while being readied for their new training, and new career. He is adored by our trainers, and he just loves his new job.

We gave him his own Facebook page because Zenyatta's fans were asking what had happened to Hootie, and we wanted everyone to know he is safe and happy with an important job.

Guests who stay at Stonepine Estate even have the opportunity to take a trail ride on Zenyatta's pony horse! How cool is that!

Follow TROTT on Twitter to keep up with Hootie and the horses in training!
